The Southern California Pro Gas Association and the K&N 890 Series presented by Blaster were scheduled to open their 2019 season a week before the Winternationals at Pomona in early February, but rain storms forced postponement until this weekend, April 27 & 28 at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana.
Kevin McClelland will enter the Pro Gas doubleheader race as the reigning series champion. The grand-prize for the season-ending Pro Gas champion is a trip to Maui sponsored by Harris Family Racing. Harris Family Racing will sponsor Saturday’s Pro Gas race, and Champion Cooling Systems will sponsor Sunday’s event.
Reigning K&N 890 Series champion Greg Hicks of Las Vegas is expected to defend his title at Fontana, with an expected 30-plus Super Comp racers battling for the early lead in that competition.
Time trials/qualifying will begin at about 8 am Saturday and Sunday, with eliminations set for early afternoon each day.
