Allison KcKoane stopped Ryan Herem’s domination of the K&N 890 Series presented by Blaster doubleheader weekend at Auto Club Dragway, as she defeated the former US Nationals champion in the final round of the Sunday event.

Saturday’s race saw Herem put up a .004 package in the final to defeat Henderson, Nev., racer Trey Vetter.  Herem’s Moser Engineering dragster posted an 8.901 after a .003 reaction time, while Vetter used a .015 light and too quick 8.890.

Herem defeated Madison Payne in the quarterfinals and Travis Richardson in the semis.  Vetter beat Chuck Babcock in the quarters and got a bye into the final.

Herem was looking for two straight wins as he entered Sunday’s event, and went to the final by beating Richardson in the semifinal while Clovis, Calif., racer McKoane got a bye.  Allison had a .031 better light in the final and took the event title with an 8.912 to Herem’s losing 8.907.

The final two races of the 2019 K&N 890 Series will be held on September 7 & 8 at Auto Club Dragway.
