JOHNNY ROCCA

We were deeply saddened to learn Johnny Rocca pasted away from liver failure and kidney damage.

Maybe best known for his Gassers, more recently Rocca became involved in Pro Modified with his Tin Indian ’33 Willys and later his Ironhorse ’49 Mercury.

With always a smile at the track, good friend Len Cottrell said, “When I first met him he was a good Italian boy. Then after he became a successful electrical contractor and moved to his ranch in Leesburg, Virgina, he became a cowboy. Then he did some ancestry research and found he had some Indian blood in him and became a full-fledged card carrying Indian businessman. There are a hundred stories during these phases. He will be missed.”
